Dr. William Steinhardt was born and raised in New Orleans, Louisiana. He received a Bachelors in Sciences from Louisiana State University before returning to New Orleans to obtain his medical degree from Louisiana State University Health Science Center. After his medical education, he completed a General Surgery Residency with Louisiana State University Health Science Center in New Orleans. He then he furthered his training with a Fellowship in Minimally Invasive Gastrointestinal Surgery at Jackson South Community Hospital in Miami, Florida. During his Fellowship he pursued his interest in Laparoscopic and Robotic Surgery with emphasis on colon, foregut and bariatric surgery. Upon returning to New Orleans he joined Southern Surgical Specialists in 2018. Dr. Steinhardt is board certified by the American College of Surgeons, and is a member in good standing with Louisiana State Board Medical Society, ASMBS and Fellow of American College of Surgeons. He has hospital affiliations with West Jefferson Medical Center, and Ochsner Medical Center- Westbank Campus.
