Dr. Moore was a member of the ASMBS Executive Council from 2016-2019. She is the founding President of the Louisiana chapter of ASMBS and also the past President (2021-2022) of the Louisiana chapter of the American College of Surgeons. She has twenty-two years of high-volume bariatric surgery experience, but approaches obesity as a chronic disease and uses many treatments, including medications and endoscopic therapies, in addition to laparoscopic bariatric surgeries like sleeve, Roux-y gastric bypass and duodenal switch. She has a special interest in the emerging field of bariatric endoscopy and offers intragastric balloon and endoscopic suturing among the treatment options in her practice. Dr. Moore is the principle investigator for several FDA trials on endoscopic devices and is a board member for the Surgical Disruptive Technology Summit which is now partnered with SAGES "Next Big Thing." She is married to bariatric surgeon Michael Thomas, and they have three children aged 18, 15 and 12.
