Dr. Vollstedt began practicing in the Siouxland are in 1992 and has been performing bariatric surgery since that time. He is a current member of The American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery (ASMBS). He is an active member of the American College of Surgeons, American Medical Associationand serving as a member of the South Dakota AMA Policy Council.

He is serving as Chief Medical Officier of MercyOne in Sioux City.
