Dr. Eittel E. Oppenheimer is a minimally invasive surgeon whom formerly practiced in the academic setting in affiliation with the University of Florida and the Malcolm Randall VA Medical Center in Gainesville, Fl. Since then he has joined the Ocala Surgical Group at HCA West Marion Hospital in Ocala, Florida. He received his medical degree from the Ponce Medical Sciences Campus and completed his surgical residency at the University of Puerto Rico Medical Sciences Campus. Dr. Oppenheimer then completed his minimally invasive foregut and bariatric surgery training at Jackson Memorial Hospital in Miami, Fl. After completing his fellowship, Dr. Oppenheimer was employed as an academic surgeon at the University of Florida Health in Gainesville, where he performs a wide variety of complex bariatric and foregut surgery. He has been in surgical practice for more than 10 years, and specializes in surgical education, academic surgical practice, foregut surgery, bariatric surgery, abdominal wall reconstruction and surgical simulation. His specialty interests include benign esophageal and gastric disease, GERD, esophageal motility disorders, revisional hernia repair and bariatric surgery.
