COL Byron Faler currently serves as the Residency Program Director at Dwight D. Eisenhower Army Medical Center in Augusta, GA where he previously served as the Chief of General Surgery and the Student Clerkship Director. He attended medical school at Wake Forest University School of Medicine and completed residency training in surgery at Walter Reed Army Medical Center. His clinical and research interests are in bariatric surgery, surgical simulation, hernia surgery, telehealth, and medical education. He holds an academic appointment as Associate Professor from Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences (USUHS).
