Dr. Cohen is a board cetified general surgeon that completed his surgical training at Emory University and University of Miami/Jackson Memorial Hospital. He then completed a fellowship in advanced laparoscopy and bariatric surgery at University of Southern California in Los Angeles. After completing his fellowship he returned home to South Florida where he has been practicing for the last 20 years. His practice emphasizes bariatric surgery, offering a variety of weight loss surgical procedures including Vertical Sleeve Gastrectomies, Roux-en-Y Gastric Bypass, Duodenal Switch, as well as revisional operations for further weight loss. He as well is an accomplished general surgeon offering high end complex laparoscopic general surgical procedures including antireflux surgery, surgery for biliary disease, hernia operations for all kinds of hernias, colon surgery as well as others. He performes all of the procedures through minimally invasive techniques utilizing the most advanced laparoscopic approaches including robotic surgery. Currently Dr. Cohen is the Chief of General Surgery for the Memorial Health Care System and the Medical Director of the Memorial Weight Loss surgery Program.
