Regular Physician Member
Rate: $375.00
A general physician working in the field of bariatric surgery who is certified by the American Medical Specialty Board Certification in their primary specialty or American Board of Obesity Medicine Certification. The applicant is required to submit Letter of Recommendation Forms from two current Regular or Senior members. Active members of the US Military who are also regular physician members qualify for a discount. They may also choose between Print & Online SOARD or they may receive an additional discount for the Online Only version of SOARD

Upgrade from Affiliate to Regular
Rate: $50.00
Affiliate members who have met the requirements for Regular membership must send documentation that these requirements have been met in order to upgrade to Regular membership.

Affiliate Surgeon Member
Rate: $325.00
A general surgeon working in the field of bariatric surgery who is NOT certified and/or has completed less than 25 cases as the primary surgeon in the last two years. The applicant is required to submit a Letter of Recommendation Form from a current Regular or Senior (previously Regular) member.

Affiliate Physician Member
Rate: 325.00
A medical doctor or osteopath working in the field of bariatric surgery but does not perform bariatric procedures. The applicant is required to submit a Letter of Recommendation Form from a current Regular or Senior (previously Regular) member.

International Member
Rate: $295.00
A general surgeon working in the field of bariatric surgery who is certified The surgeon must also have completed a minimum of 25 bariatric surgeries as the primary surgeon within the last two years. The applicant is required to submit Letter of Recommendation Forms from two current International members or one from a Regular or Senior (previously Regular) member. International Members may choose between print & online SOARD, or they may receive a discount for Online Only version of SOARD.

Candidate Member
Rate: $0.00
Candidate members must be currently enrolled as a Medical Student, Resident or Fellow in an accredited program of surgical education or research. The program director must submit the candidate recommendation form as verification of participation in an accredited training program (the link to an online form is on the membership page of ASMBS). Submit a current Curriculum Vitae. Candidate members must renew their candidate membership on an annual basis. Upon completion of training program, Candidate members should apply for full membership as a Regular, Affiliate or International member. Candidate dues are complimentary with verification of currently enrollment in an accredited training program. Candidate members will also receive a complimentary subscription to SOARD.
