Metabolic and Bariatric Surgeon

Chicago Institute of Advanced Surgery, Chicago, IL

The Chicago Institute of Advanced Surgery is seeking a surgeon with metabolic and bariatric fellowship training to join its multi specialty surgical practice. The practice is located in the heart of Chicago and consists of general surgeons with various fellowship training in bariatric, foregut, colon and rectal surgery, HPB, and other specialties. The practice is contracted with different community hospitals and healthcare systems across the greater Chicago area. We are a private practice group with all the advantages of independence. The practice has a very strong academic presence locally and nationally, and also a track record working with the FDA on different trials.

The majority of our hospitals are covered by general surgery residents. The Chicago Institute of advanced surgery is very unique in having its own fully accredited fellowship in both bariatric and advanced GI MIS surgery. In 2023, the fellowship counsel granted us a fully accredited second fellowship spot. The senior surgeon, Dr. Rami Lutfi, is heavily involved in ASMBS, which will help the new surgeon to grow in the metabolic surgery society and provide mentorship, if desired or needed.

This exciting opportunity will allow the surgeon to step into a “ready-to-go” metabolic and bariatric surgery practice. The practice currently performs over 400 cases yearly of all types of metabolic and foregut procedures. In addition, bariatric surgeons perform basic endoscopy on their own patients. The position includes the opportunity to grow a solid general surgery practice as well.

The corporation has over 20 employees and our headquarters are located in the upscale River North area of Chicago with quick access to our neighboring hospitals. We work closely with our NP’s and PAs who lead our robust medical weight management practice. In addition, there is the potential for clinical academic appointment, if desired.

We are looking forward to working with a motivated, ambitious, yet still compassionate and humble surgeon to join our family.

We welcome applicants with all levels of experience and background.

To apply, please contact Dr. Rami Lutfi rami.lutfi@gmail.com
